About the Photographs
The effect of light changing on shapes and faces, people and places, is a constant source of fascination for me. Nowhere does the light seem as gentle, or the atmosphere as mystical, as in the Southeast Asian country of Myanmar, also known as Burma. The light there illuminates a rhythm of life that has played out for centuries among monks, nuns and worshippers in the Buddhist pagodas, monasteries and nunneries. My hope is to capture the beauty and enchantment of this tranquil way of life for the appreciation and inspiration of a wider audience. Proceeds from the photographs are shared with the monks and nuns.
